Thursday

Skies flatten out and drain of colour as the evening arrives.
Snow undoes itself, leaving little but muck.
Old snow and dim light marry and produce an unremarkable child.

Monday

A crow cries somewhere just before dawn.
Heavy warm rain falls for a while, the stops.
Ozone sweetens the air.
Long lines of white surf breaking against the endless shore.
Dark eagles with wide curved wing tips soaring silently over the Pacific Ocean.
Hibiscus flowers in yellow and white popping from thick foliage.
A lone dog strolls the expansive beach.
A pale bleached out sun slowly sets on the western horizon, fresh, sharp ocean air flies in as well.
1/2 waxing moon hangs in the empty twilight sky.

Sunday

Heavy tropical rain washing all over everything all at once.
Lush, humid air filled with life.
Cats roaming across the wet ground.
Pale, misty islands dotting the dark surface of the ocean.
Tall palms with smooth trunks glistening.

Thursday

Flicking striped snails off the wet path into the long grass after the rain.
The bleached, boney carcass of a dead tree, stripped and spindly like skeleton fingers, picking at the heavy wet air around it.
The roses arrive over night, fat fragrant flowers as pink flags announce their return.
(written in the time of roses)
Charcoal rain clouds and afternoon rain mix lovingly for a while.
Venus in/on full bright shine, steady and mindful in the western sky.

Sunday

Lilacs saying yes and making today a little bit more.
Tulips bob to their own jazz.
Venus as soprano singing out on high.

Friday

White apple blossoms carpet the trees roots like snow.
Lilacs punch the day.
Reclining at the base of a birch tree, in  an birch grove, at sunset, on a small island.
Dandelions fringe a thousand yellow tulips.

Thursday

New leaves as verdant canopy, finally.
Lilac Days, temporarily.
Clean crisp wind skims the surface of sunny things.
Branches sway with the heavy sweetness and annual perfection of Early Japanese Summer ( 06 May - 05 Jun).
Rose villages everywhere gear up for next months' show.

Saturday

Tender, tiny green leaves in furled form run along the thorny stalks of the rose bush village.
Strong sunlight and and bottomless blue sky own the day above.
The high dirty hill hiding an icy frozen core guards the horizon.

Friday

Wind blows from right to left.
Small waves on the river move from left to right.
Grey herons fly north,(right to left) close to the surface of the water.
Fuzzy feather grass bobs in the wind.
A brown marmot forages in the long grass.
Chickadees bop about.
Moon waxes.
Venus rises.

Thursday

Baby grey mouse wounded and shivering on the path, tail erect like radar
The crescent moon and Venus rise in concert in the western sky an hour after the sun wanes.
Later,
in tandem,
they set.

Saturday

Two grey squirrels chase each other along a weathered wooden fence with capricious speed.
A cold wind bellows the overcast day.
Afternoon sun showers drop a shower curtain of sparkling light in the air.
Night descends and Venus ascends, shining with sharp focus.
The first daffodils of spring shiver in the shadows.

Friday

Snowflakes swirl lightly, following any axis of their choosing.
Ma Tulsi struggles for her existence.
The pale day slips into dark night.
Cat curls inside of slumber.

Wednesday

Deep sky blue, Shiva swallows
Pine grove as repository
Pine needle & memory co-mingle
Night as dark truth
Sap reeks like an underarm

Saturday

A dusty purple wall of English lavender perhaps.
The deep current of the river moving, wide and silent.
White sand underfoot.
Spiders in their webs, strategically

Monday

Purple & yellow Crocuses poking through the wet soil.
The spring sun shines for a while, then disappears behind a veil of clouds.
Grey squirrels hop about in seasonal labour.

Tuesday

The rising sun stains a band of clouds pink, a horizontal smear on the edge of last night's receding dark mantle.
Fluffy, almost stupid snowflakes float up and down and all over town in no apparent direction.
Winter is endless, without top or bottom, without stopping or starting or slowing.

Friday

A tribe of starlings in the grand bare tree.
Snow falling like dust particles after an explosion.
The smear of something fast & brown as old leaves, a hawk?
A gorgeous, forlorn teal parrot, bored shaggy male canaries, chipper finches, warm water fishes, three miniature striped turtles taking in their artificial sun.
Later, the milky full moon in Leo crowns the cold winter night.

Saturday

Skies flat & white & empty.
Tiny flakes of frozen water flit about after the night's storm

Wednesday

A blue spruce singing in the morning sunlight.
Sky open cold & clear.
Trees emptied of their burden of leaves for the year.
Tiny red berries on skinny bare branches sharp as punctuation.
A dead, bare tree scraping against the blue sky.
Dusty dead grass, yellow stalks and whisps of stray leaves, quivering in the slight breeze
