A slight chill holds out from the night before.
A crow chants mantras somewhere in the distance.
Little white flowers tremble in the morning air.
Two ducks float on the choppy waters of the canal.

Monday

The day after Hurricane Irene comes & blows & goes.
Snapped branches litter the sidewalks.
Sky clear & crisp & blue as water.
Sparrows flit from branch to branch.
The canal sparkles with later summer early morning light.

Friday

Crow conference in the big tree out back first off this morning.
Bumble bees busy at work on the yellow & pink flowers.
Sunlight streaming all over the day.
Green-eyed cat about me.
Swollen, filthy pitbull with scabby skin lounging in the morning sun.
The air is muggy & sweet after a week of unrelenting rain.
Apple trees fat with white blossoms.
Grass green & thickened by patience.
A fat bumblebee dances by.
Pink, purple, violet, mauve...yellow, green...Mother Nature releases her full palette as recompense.

Thursday

Warm, soft, wet air.
Skies grey & full.
Shoots of green grass pushing upwards & onwards.
Sparrows bouncing about in small groups.
Tiny buds line the skinny branches of wet trees.

Tuesday

Sun.
Light.
Life.

Friday

The sound of last night`s rain pouring off a rooftop into a puddle.
Sunlight & blue sky, for a while.
A geranium with a single bud ready to flower.
The black & white alley cat doing his daily route.
A doberman races towards me & stops at the last moment.
Pale & wane sunlight as the sun sets.

Saturday

Starling squawking & clickling loudly, perched on a telephone wire.
A large legion of crows performing strange manouvres off the hospital roof.
Distant patch of blue sky.
Rain.
Birds.
Puddles.

Thursday

A sun dog rings the weak afternoon sun.
Teams & legions of crows fly westwards shortly before sunset.
