Wednesday

The re-appearance of the Green.
A Robin flies overhead with twigs & long grass for a nest.
Birds sing the first songs of Spring.
Father Sun wipes & warms my face.

Tuesday

Fat black bats like inky spots swoop past me in the night air.

Monday

A crow croaks from the shadows of a pine tree.
A bright red cardinal sings sonorously from the tippy top of a bare tree, while a fat oily starling watches on from the branches below.
The sun is pale and distant up in the afternoon sky.
Snow melts silently.
The river at night, it's dark surface scalloped by small waves.
Tall, fluffy river grass swaying in the wind.

Saturday

Warm sunlight with real weight & presence on my pale face.
Snow melting & the sound of water dripping.
A white seagull careens overhead in a large arc.
Katze rolls about in the sunlight.
Open blue skies hold the fine day lovingly.

Wednesday

Snowflakes falling gently, gently, gently fat as white goose feathers.
One corner of the overcast sky opens for a while, with yellowish light tinting the gap.
In a moment it closes over and is gone for the day.
Birds about.
Dead yellow grass revealed by the warming weather, pocked with icy puddles.
Later darkness & snowflakes fall slowly together, one mixing with the other.

Friday

-11 C
Light snow & cold wind blast the day.
Tree branches, emptied by the season, sway in the snowy afternoon wind.
No birds.

Wednesday

The frozen river shining like sunlight.
Red rosehips clinging to spiky stems, the only colour in the land.
Sparkling sunshine bouncing off running water.

Thursday

Strong winds harass the wet, sloppy day.
Trees bend & bounce & shake about.
A concert of  bird chirps from the tall cedar hedge, the performers hidden from view by a swaying green grille.
The puddles are rippled by the wet wind.
The grey sky lightens & opens slightly in distance.
Crow flies by while his comrade croaks watchfully from the skinny limbs of a naked tree.
Deep, painful cold (-25 C) wraps over & around & throughout the land without mercy or moderation.
The sun, distant & weak & pale, gives so little to the day.
Long horizontal bands of undulated grey stripe the flat afternoon sky.

Monday

Mighty cold (-19 C) & bright & clear.
The birds still do their daily chores above.
