Thursday

Two little birds of two different species sit side by side in the sunlight.
Lilac scents the way.

Oh!  The first rose of summer, pink & perfect in every way.

Tuesday

Peace lily flowering with two white cocoons.
Sunlight streaming.
Two grey squirrels monkey around in a tree.
Grass green & growing.

Monday

A male & female sparrow flit from branch to branch in a sparse maple tree.
The old river, low & blue in the distance.
Sharp, crisp blue sky above.
The female sparrow shakes & picks at her feathers in the warmth of the sun.
Ivy leaves, wide & waxy, soaking up the day's abundance.

Saturday

Puddles tremble in the drizzling rain.
A sparrow careens from one side of the day to the other.
The sky weighs in as a colourless void.

Friday

(for Bashō)

Apple blossoms gone
their whiteness dead for the year
Lilacs still remain

Thursday

A great clap of thunder startles the heavy air.
Rain follows fast & furious, bouncing back off the surfaces it smacks.
A bird sings a solo as the clouds clear.
An uneasy alliance between light & dark by day's end.

Tuesday

Rain that comes & goes.
Wind that rises & falls.
Birds careening through wet grey skies.

Monday

Rain & cold wind weigh down the day, heaving the trees like waves.
All the colours of Spring are dampened by the wet day.
A dog chases a seagull across a muddy field.

Friday

A chilly breeze snaps the day sharp & sunny.
White apple blossoms and green leaves shiver & bob in the wind.
Birds continue to work the weather with the sounds of Spring.
Sunlight glistens off the trembling leaves of a birch tree.
Purple Lilac blooms begin their brief reign.

Wednesday

A single sparrow sings out from somewhere unseen.
Thick, creamy apple blossoms scent the air with purity & delight.
Two cherry trees in full bloom, one pink and one purple, stand side by side colouring the day with deep joy.
Blues, greens, pinks, purples, whites, oranges and yellow are the palette of the day.

Tuesday

Tulips of all colours and flavours pop in the sunlight.
Cherry blossoms in pink & purple jazz the day.
The old, low mountain is starting to green over as the trees burst with leaves.

Monday

"Beauty easily evokes Love."

The gentlest of winds, warms and silken soft as only wind in the first week of May can be, shaves my faces with delight.
An old green pine tree bobs solemnly in response to the warm wind.
Rose bushes proceed with greening commitment to their red cause yet to burst.
Small, tiny green blossoms of some sort carpet the ground at my feet.
A white butterfly beats it's way past me as a sparrow chirps from a tree.

Friday

Birds chirping chirps like stereo sound, full surround.
Yellow tulips neighbouring orange tulips with yellow centers.
Blue sky, warm breeze.
Two squirrels race each other in a straight line.
Tiny green leaves dot the rose bushes, the overture before the symphony.

Thursday

The sun is rising up & shining down.
Green leaves are budding on the trees.
Two grey squirrels kiss along a birch branch.
A Sparrow sings & dances not far off.
