Tuesday

Thunder snaps.
Heavy rain.
Lightning flashes.
Thunder.
Hail slamming down from above.
Water gushing.
Lightning.
Thunder.
Trees bending.
The storm moves on.

Friday

(written on a rock in the river on the first day of Summer)

Blue & green & water reflecting the sunlight above.
The surface of the river placid & smooth.
A duck & five ducklings paddle past en route from here to there.
The air hot &still.
A white butterfly flits about in the long green grass at the river's edge.
The white butterfly visits the yellow buttercup.
The orange feet of an upside down duck makes a splash of colour in the dark river water.
Whistling above, besides, behind, beyond.
Fluff and the river flow by in the same lazy direction.
The river wrapped around my right foot, water cool then cold.

Thursday

The sound of the leaves moving in the breeze from the trees in the distance.
A bird trills a whistle somewhere.
Tree leaves quivering overhead, their rustling sounds rising & falling away.
A buttercup with her five tiny perfect yellow petals.
The long grass swaying to & fro.
Two seagulls as white specks on the river in the distance.
A lone white daisy with a small black bug in its center.
An orange-breasted bird with yellow striped wings sings a strange happy song.
A small grey feather on the ground.
Clear skies as the sun sets for the night.
12/14th of a moon rises .

Wednesday

The river shimmers with 100, 000 sparks of light.
Fluff floats aimlessly above the surface of the water to it's own lazy rhythm.
Black birds make the most of the sunny day by singing loudly from the trees.
Long weeds like serpents slithering under the surface of the water.
Fluff floats along on the surface of the water, joined by bits of grass.
A mother mallard and her five ducklings cruise by silently.
A small school of tiny, tiny guppies play just under the surface of the water.

Monday

Crow song.
Seagull song.
Starling song.
Sparrow song.
Geese high up overhead song.
(Bells singing)

Blue cornflowers scattered across a wet green field, yellow buttercups as backbeats to the green song.
Wind through the wet elms.
A black-bird sings somewhere.
River grey like the sky.
A brownish mushroom squats in the long grass.
Sun peeps out and mottles the path with shadows.
Dusty juniper berries crushed for their sharp scent.
Three striped snails on the side of the path.
A pink clover bud bobs in the breeze.
Duck song.
A robin hides in the green grass, given away by his red breast.

Friday

Ladybug red as a tomato in the green grass.
Cormorant squatting on a rock in the middle of the river.
River water brown & murky from the rain.
Two small birds assault a hawk in mid-flight.
A bright yellow bird flits from tree to tree.
Fluff floats through the air like bubbles.
Two mallards cruise along.
Herons flying.
Raindrops falling on the surface of the river, creating expanding concentric circles overlapping endlessly.

Thursday

A grey heron with open beak flies against the grey ceiling of the morning sky.
A white heron flies in the opposite direction.
A small black feather twitches in the breeze in the middle of the path.
A red-winged black bird gurgles konk-la-ree from a tree.
A striped brown snail shell lies cracked & broken on the dusty path.
Weeping willows weep in the afternoon rain.

Wednesday

Fluff floats through the air, silently.
Mountain, green.
Sky, blue.

Saturday

Swallows race ahead of the great approaching storm.
The evening sky flattens, and darkens, and begins to churn.
Lightning, still distant, allumes the heavy canopy.
The dark sky shivers with snaps of light.
A bolt of lightning scores the sky with energy.
Heaven is awake!
The smell of ozone & sweet summer rain fills the air.
Rain begins to fall and the trees begin to sway.
